The Truth Of Distance Photographs of the good times remain with me here and you appear in many though this friendship started late. You were the only one to ease my pain as you managed to understand. Distance didn’t affect the time you took to reassure me in my time of need. Things worked because we wanted them to and we took nothing for granted. Comprehension of each others thoughts took time but the hands on the clock stood still for us and we were lucky for that moment. Though no words describe the strength it is something which will be felt for as long as the memories remain. Our connection survives on smiles of understanding and nobody can take those looks away. A genuine appreciation is the truth, it is the key and that is the word that will connect you and me. So I give you a photograph now of the friends you have and always will and the rare smile is intend for only you. The pictures do not make up for the distance in between but we can remain close until the day that we let go. I’ll never let you go. (26 Oct 1998)
