THE SUN CAME UP


Heading for nothing
A simple meeting
Going to that place
I thought it was normal

Something went wrong
Something that just shouldn't happen
Below the crazy stares, dilemma
Try to smile, within

I was there, I was alone
There were too many people around
They go home into the night
I feel better out of sight

Words dropping from above
Scattering the room
Midnight, time to go
But I'm not going anywhere
Not tonight

Day to end all days
Growing into a new world
Shattered when the sun woke up
It made life go away

Completely wrapped, safe
No more can one hurt one's self
Until the sun comes, if need be
Need is too short, but oh so long

Could have gone wrong
Could have gone right
It was so long
Near perfect and disastrous
Maybe two nights
What about tonight
But it was gone when the sun came up
