NIGHTMARE


Didn't live last night
Didn't last the dark hours
Found myself a new place to hide
Shot my dreams away

When I came to today
There was no self belief
There was no understanding in my head
But nothing here to understand
The world I find my mind in
Isn't quite the shelter
I thought it would be

Shaping my own misconceptions
Without the feeling in my eyes
The face that I don't see in the mirror
Is something I could never believe
Or be

The nightmare rose to new heights
With the dawning of this fine day
The ultimate fear in sleep
When I cannot even wake up

I slept so well last night
Until my bad dream kicked in
I'm glad the nightmare's over
Although it is yet to begin
