19 Oct1998 Lucifer’s Gift To The Ungrateful Prince of darkness I watch as you scream at your paling reflection Your heartbeat is slowed by layers of sin Your shock is still less than the pain you’ve inflicted And fire burns from head to toe As you succumb to regret. Your haunting pitch shatters the glass As your sordid ways keep you alive Arrogance stops the bloody tears that others cried because of thee From teasing the flame that glows with the inferno of rage. Sinister thoughts spring from eyes possessed As thou hears the cry of the perished loss The unbearable heat sucks the light of day Are we forced to live in darkness Or will fairness prevail and fortune be saved? Some have worshipped thee like God himself Sine qua non* To life alone Those poor misguided souls found truth in death But their lives had been stolen long before. Finally, hatred consumes the hideous form But the light of day returned too late Now the stars and moon glow red at night And pity cradles the world thou helped cremate. Our tarnished souls are ash in waiting On our knees we pray for release The monarch of hell has blackened our heavens And we weep As we live for yesterday. *something which is essential
