8 Feb 1998 A Darker Shade Of Normality The change was all too sudden, From sun to storm as minutes passed And last nights rain still drips from each tree. Everything still wet, Soaked with the despair of change. The colours are all different now. Darker than normal. And as the cars drive by, We hear the puddles splash. A fine spray of water rises with each passing. And the young girl, Waiting on the corner Is saturated by the fine spray as the car passes by. Now her jacket is soaked With the all too sudden change And the despair it was intended to hide Is now obvious to all. Her confidence is swept away with the final gust of wind And her tears begin to overflow and drip, Just like last nights rain which still drips from each tree, Her watery world is turned around She has lost sight of normality.
